You are Correct! IMCA only counts points for MAIN Events! The reason for the Heat points is that they are counted for TRACK Points only for those in the membership! It does NOT affect the point structure that IMCA has mandated!
For further clarification, If you win the main event and receive points for that main of 30 points, when the report for IMCA is filed, it will show 40 points ( based on 10 cars or more, Declining on less than 10 cars by 1 point for each car less than 10!
If a driver finishes 5th in a field of 10 cars or more, that driver will receive 26 points for track points, but will be posted on the report to IMCA as: 36 points!
Hope I have explained this well enough, and I understand your concern , but rest assured, your question was understandable!
Thank you, Ed Macedo NVRC

So are there going to be two champions? An IMCA and a track champion?

I suppose that could be a possibility! We will have to see what happens at the end of the season! Ed Macedo NVRC
